I launched Project Once in 2021 as an independent management consultancy specialising in benefits realisation management. My aim is to ensure the successful delivery of the benefits of change initiatives, with a particular focus on the realisation of public value.
I believe projects should be run once, and once only. They should enable and realise the benefits of the investment within the time and budget expectations set out at initiation.
I work to make this happen.
I have over thirty years' experience in business, including:
My passion is the design and delivery of benefits realisation management methods, tools and techniques, where I can work with organisations to prioritise, manage and deliver successful business change initiatives.

I hold the following professional certifications:
Over the last few years I've developed my skills to better deliver what my clients need:
I strive not to be a success, but to be of value.
Benefits realisation management is the identification, definition, planning, tracking and realisation of business benefits. Delivering benefits is the primary reason why organisations undertake change.
The problem though is that often the change fails to deliver the benefits, either partially... or at all.
Before you make an investment in change, ask the "so what" and "how much" questions.
You can read more on this in a short article I wrote and published on LinkedIn.
My conclusion is that we should be considering benefits and change in the same breath, or what I like to call Benefits Realisation Change Management.
Investment Logic Mapping (ILM) is a technique to ensure that robust discussion and thinking is done up-front, resulting in sound problem definition, before solutions are identified and before any investment decision is made.
The major output from this process is an Investment Logic Map, but it's the ILM process which delivers the greatest value. The process consists of four workshops:
Over the last few years I've run a number of these sessions, creating investment logic maps across a range of both large and small prospective initiatives.
